Admission to the 2009 Sugar Maple Traditional Music Festival isn’t exactly cheap; but if you’re planning to attend this family-friendly event in the company of some preteens, you may find that it’s a bit of a bargain. That’s because kids under 12 get in free!
The festival, sponsored by the Four Lakes Traditional Music Collective, opens at 5 p.m. Friday, July 31st with a Main Stage performance by Frog Water; at 6 p.m., the Jam Tent will feature a bluegrass jam, hosted by Sweetgrass; and at 6:15 p.m. children’s entertainer Dave Landau will open his performance on the Roots & Reasons Stage.
Other performers during the two-day festival include KG and the Ranger, Johnny Chimes, and the Savoy Family Cajun Band. A complete schedule is available on the festival website.
The Sugar Maple Festival is held at Lake Farm Park, 4330 Libby Road in Madison (rain or shine).
Adult tickets run from $14 (Friday only, advance purchase) to $36 (2-day pass, at the gate). Visit the festival website for additional ticket information. And remember, kids under 12 get in free.
