Olbrich Botanical Gardens will host Madison’s free, community-wide Kwanzaa Celebration from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 26th. This non-religious family event will be held in the Evjue Commons and will feature dancing, drumming, and singing.
According to Kwanzaa founder Dr. Maulana Karenga, “As an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrated by millions throughout the world African community, Kwanzaa brings a cultural message which speaks to the best of what it means to be African and human in the fullest sense.”
Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Avenue, is owned and operated by the City of Madison Parks Division in partnership with the non-profit Olbrich Botanical Society.
