Warm up a chilly Monday night by taking in the Clyde Stubblefield Show at The Frequency.
Clyde Stubblefield drummed for James Brown from 1965 to 1970 and recorded such hits as “I Feel Good,” “Coldsweat,” and “The Funky Drummer.” He is the most sampled drummer ever, providing some of the most famous and familiar grooves used by DJ’s and hip-hop artists around the world — and he has hosted his “Funky Mondays” show in downtown Madison for almost twenty years.
The Clyde Stubblefield Show features the vocal talents of Karri Daley and Charlie Brooks; the legendary Funky Drummer, Clyde Stubblefield, on drums; accompanied by Steve Skaggs (keyboards), Dave Goplen (bass), Joe Wickham (guitar) and the three-piece horn section of Bryan Husk, Pete Ross and Chad Whittinghill.
The show starts at 9:30 p.m. and admission is only $5. You must be 21 or over to attend.
The Frequency is located at 121 West Main Street, just one block from the Capitol.
