Madison’s Žaibas Lithuanian Dancers at Red Gym

July 19, 2010

Enjoy a master dance demonstration and lesson with Madison’s Žaibas Lithuanian Dancers from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21st in the On Wisconsin rooms B and C of the Red Gym, 716 Langdon Street.

Please wear sneakers or other comfortable shoes and plan to participate in this program, which is free and open to the public.

Žaibas (pronounced Zhy′ bus) is the Lithuanian word for lightning bolt. The group chose that name because it brings to mind the nature of both Lithuania and Wisconsin. Žaibas Lithuanian Dancers perform at folk fairs, school programs, dance festivals and other cultural events. As a Madison Vilnius Sister Cities‘ project, Žaibas works to share, preserve, and promote Lithuanian heritage.
