There are many reasons why you may want to learn a second (or third) language — and the Madison and Middleton Public Libraries want to help you succeed in doing so.
These libraries now offer FREE access to the Mango Languages learning program, which teaches practical conversation and cultural awareness for the world’s most popular languages. There are 22 languages from which to choose, as well as 15 ESL courses.
According to information provided by the Madison Public Library, “Through fun and engaging interactive lessons, Mango makes learning a new language fast, easy and incredibly effective. As you listen to and repeat after native speakers, you’ll learn more than just words and phrases. You’ll learn how those pieces can be rearranged and combined to make new thoughts, new conversations, and even more practical communication! In no time at all, you’ll be able to navigate all sorts of everyday situations — get directions, order a meal, make new friends — the possibilities are endless!”
You may use Mango at all Madison Public Library Locations and at the Middleton Public Library. If you have a Madison or Middleton library card, you may also use Mango remotely (at home or some other location). If you use Mango remotely, your computer will need to have Java and Flash, as well as speakers and a microphone for full functionality. If you’re in the library, you will need to use headphones.
Note: If you do not live in Madison or Middleton, visit the Mango Languages library page and scroll down to the bottom to click on the “library locator” to learn what libraries near you provide this learning tool.
