Bring your pipes and your friends and family to raise a joyful noise with the Overture Concert Organ this weekend. Join Madison Symphony Orchestra organist Samuel Hutchinson at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 for a free community Christmas carol sing in Overture Hall.

Hutchinson will be playing the Overture Concert Organ (“the mighty Klais”). Designed and built by the German firm of Orgelbau Klais, the organ consists of 63 stops, 72 ranks and 4,040 pipes, the tallest of which is 32 feet and the heaviest weighs in at more than 1,200 pounds.

This event is free and open to the public. The Hymn Sing lasts 45 minutes to an hour. All ages are welcome. No tickets or reservations are necessary. The Overture Center for the Arts is located at 201 State Street.
