Thanksgiving Dinner 2011

Update (11/6/2012) – The updated list for Thanksgiving Day 2012 is now available. Click HERE to see it.

No matter what your reason may be, there are alternatives to cooking your own Thanksgiving Dinner. To help you find them, Madison on the Cheap has compiled a list of Madison-area organizations and restaurants serving dinner on Thanksgiving Day 2011. You’ll find a range of options, from FREE to almost $40 per person.

However, you will find fewer options this year. One community dinner could not find sufficient volunteers to continue. Some restaurants are no longer in business; and several are not serving this year because of the schedule conflict created by the 11:30 a.m. kickoff time for the Packers vs. the Lions football game.

The free dinners are open to all, but each sponsoring organization we contacted stressed the importance of volunteers and donations. Cash donations are especially appreciated. So too are volunteers who are willing to help with clean-up tasks. Please consider contributing time and/or money if you are in a position to do so this Thanksgiving.
